Tirta Gangga

If you want to take a tour in Bali that features a royal palace, then the Ubud Palace is a stunning sight – but what about Tirta Gangga, a former royal palace turned stunning open water garden sanctuary?

Literally translating to “Blessed water of the Ganges” referring to Hinduism’s holy river, Tirta Gangga was a huge complex built in 1946 but was destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963. Now, it’s a lovingly rebuilt sanctuary that’s definitely worth a visit.
